The first mile
Cold chain from origin
Almost everything we sell is grown thousands of miles from London. Mangosteen leaves a Thai orchard inside a refrigerated truck within hours of being picked. Miyazaki mango is packed in branded tissue at the farm, climate-locked into a Japanese reefer container, and flown — not shipped — at the temperature it left the tree.
Sea freight is cheaper. Sea freight is also where most exotic fruit dies. Every box we send is the product of an unbroken cold chain: farm to refrigerated truck, refrigerated truck to climate-controlled aircraft, climate-controlled aircraft to insulated UK warehouse, insulated warehouse to your door inside 24 hours. The price reflects keeping that chain unbroken — not the fruit itself.
