Moraceae
The world's largest tree fruit — broken into golden pods of bubblegum sweetness.
The family
Moraceae is the mulberry family, but its showstopper is jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) — the largest fruit grown on any tree, sometimes 40kg per fruit, broken down into individual pods of chewy-firm golden flesh that tastes of banana, mango and bubblegum at once. Red jackfruit is the same species in a rarer cultivar — reddish flesh, smokier perfume.
